A Valentine? I saw a movie (parts of it) of a war bride, her husband told her to wait for him at the train station. So every year on Valentines day – well into her 80’s every Valentines day she waited. Her soldier finally made it home (with honors, though in a casket) after a reporter wondered why the little old lady got all dressed up once a year. The reporter was instrumental in having the solder’s body found and brought home from WWII. The train station had old wooden benches…
Thank you Jules… what an incredible story… yes I wrote the Elfje around Valentine’s Day. I see clearly the image of the old lady, all dressed up, waiting for her beloved to return….
Thank you Jules, your comment is absolutely an addition to my Elfje…
