Maes Howe

Ancient
Maes Howe,
dark and light
meet within at winter
solstice.

(Maes Howe in Orkney is the finest chambered passage tomb in northern-europe. It was built about 5.000 years ago. The 10 metre long passage is aligned so that for three weeks either side of the winter solstice light from the setting sun shines down the passage and illuminates the back of the chamber.)
