Scara Brae
ancient village, atmospheric,
windswept life so long

(Scara Brae in the Bay of Skaill on mainland Orkney is the best preserved neolithic village in Northern Europe, It was revealed by a violent storm in 1850. Some 5000 years old, it was inhabited before the Egyptian pyramids were built.)

    • Kathy it is a remarkable place, once some way inland but now right on the coast and sadly at risk of further land erosion. Like you I love the sound of the name!
