Neolithic
Scara Brae
ancient village, atmospheric,
windswept life so long
ago.
(Scara Brae in the Bay of Skaill on mainland Orkney is the best preserved neolithic village in Northern Europe, It was revealed by a violent storm in 1850. Some 5000 years old, it was inhabited before the Egyptian pyramids were built.)
Beautiful and interesting. Best wishes, Ellen
I love the sense of history you stir and wake with these few words…
The depth of history is amazing to witness!
Love the 4th and 5th lines–powerful words!! 🙂 And Scara Brae–I like the sound of the words themselves; need to visit that place.
Kathy it is a remarkable place, once some way inland but now right on the coast and sadly at risk of further land erosion. Like you I love the sound of the name!
