The Sea
It comes, goes.
For aeons it knows.

De Zee
Ze komt, gaat.
Aeonen lang weet ze.

Thank you Catherine for another Elfje also in the original Dutch.

  • Thought the last line was brilliant – kind of shivery and sounds like the sea
Although I can’t read Dutch I enjoyed reading the shapes of the words in the author’s mother tongue
    Thank you!

    • Thank you very much Freya Pickard, thank you for your comment. Yes there is definitely a sense of alertness in this Elfje… for your information Freya, Dutch is not my mother tongue, I am French but I have been living in this beautiful, energetic country for more than 3 decades now so I am pretty much Dutch minded: I also dream in Dutch so I try to keep on the good work!
